Luxor Highlights & Embarkation

After meeting your Egyptologist guide at your hotel or Luxor Airport, begin your journey by private air-conditioned vehicle to explore Luxor's remarkable East and West Banks.

Your first visit is Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex ever constructed. Built and expanded over nearly two thousand years, its colossal columns, towering obelisks, and sacred lake illustrate the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Continue to Valley of the Kings, the royal burial place of Egypt's New Kingdom pharaohs. Hidden within the Theban Hills, the valley contains beautifully decorated tombs that reveal ancient beliefs about the afterlife.

Next, visit Luxor Temple, an architectural masterpiece primarily built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. Connected to Karnak by the historic Avenue of Sphinxes, the temple served as the center of the annual Opet Festival.

Around midday, enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant.

Following your sightseeing, transfer to your luxury Dahabiya for embarkation. Settle into your cabin before enjoying dinner onboard as your unforgettable Nile journey begins.

Continue to the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have guarded the Theban Necropolis for over 3,400 years.

Around midday, return to your Dahabiya and enjoy lunch onboard before beginning your peaceful sail south along the Nile.

Edfu, Gebel El Silsila & Kom Ombo

Dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god, the Temple of Edfu is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Its magnificent pylons, sanctuaries, and detailed inscriptions provide remarkable insight into ancient Egyptian religious life.

Return to your Dahabiya and continue sailing toward Gebel El Silsila.

Gebel El Silsila served as Ancient Egypt's principal sandstone quarry, providing building materials for many of the country's most famous temples. The riverside cliffs also feature impressive rock-cut chapels and inscriptions left by ancient pharaohs.

Around midday, enjoy lunch onboard as your Dahabiya glides peacefully along the Nile.

Later, visit Kom Ombo Temple, uniquely dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god associated with fertility and the Nile, and Horus the Elder, the falcon god of kingship. Its perfectly symmetrical design makes it one of Egypt's most distinctive temples.
