Tour Plan
Upon arrival in Aswan, meet your Egyptologist guide at your hotel or Aswan Airport before transferring by private air-conditioned vehicle to visit Philae Temple.
A short motorboat ride takes you to Agilkia Island, home to the magnificent Philae Temple. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, this beautiful sanctuary was carefully relocated by UNESCO to protect it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser.
Following your visit, transfer to your luxury Dahabiya for embarkation and enjoy a welcome lunch onboard.
In the afternoon, sail along the Nile to visit Kom Ombo Temple. Uniquely dedicated to two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, the falcon god—the temple features perfectly symmetrical halls and fascinating reliefs illustrating ancient Egyptian medicine and religious practices.
Return to your Dahabiya and enjoy dinner onboard while admiring the peaceful Nile scenery.
Helpful Hint: Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat to protect yourself from the Upper Egypt sun.
After breakfast onboard, continue sailing along one of the most scenic stretches of the Nile toward Gebel El Silsila.
Gebel El Silsila served as Ancient Egypt's primary sandstone quarry, supplying stone for many of the country's greatest temples. The site also contains beautifully carved rock shrines dedicated to several pharaohs and deities.
Around midday, enjoy lunch onboard your Dahabiya while relaxing on the sun deck as the vessel glides peacefully past traditional villages and lush riverbanks.
Continue sailing toward Edfu before taking a traditional horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus.
The Temple of Horus at Edfu is one of Egypt's best-preserved ancient temples. Dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god, its towering pylons and beautifully decorated halls provide remarkable insight into the religious traditions of the Ptolemaic Period.
Return to your Dahabiya for dinner onboard.
Helpful Hint: Keep your camera ready as the Nile scenery offers excellent photography opportunities throughout the day.
After breakfast onboard, enjoy a relaxing morning as your Dahabiya sails toward Luxor.
Around midday, savor lunch onboard while taking in the timeless landscapes that have inspired travelers for centuries.
Upon arrival in Luxor, meet your Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the legendary Karnak Temple.
Karnak Temple is the largest religious complex ever built, expanded over nearly two thousand years by successive pharaohs. Its impressive Hypostyle Hall, towering obelisks, and sacred lake make it one of Egypt's greatest archaeological treasures.
Continue to Luxor Temple, a magnificent monument constructed primarily by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. The temple once served as the focal point of the famous Opet Festival and remains beautifully illuminated in the evening.
Return to your Dahabiya for dinner.
Helpful Hint: Late afternoon provides some of the best lighting conditions for photographing Luxor's ancient monuments.
After breakfast, disembark from your Dahabiya and meet your Egyptologist guide before transferring by private air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor's famous West Bank.
Begin your visit at the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of Egypt's New Kingdom pharaohs. Hidden deep within the desert hills, the valley contains richly decorated tombs that reveal extraordinary scenes from ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.
Continue to the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut, dramatically built into the limestone cliffs of Deir El Bahari. The temple honors Queen Hatshepsut, one of Ancient Egypt's most successful female rulers and an outstanding example of ancient architecture.
Your final stop is the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have stood guard over the Theban Necropolis for more than 3,400 years.
After completing your sightseeing, transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor Airport or your hotel for your onward journey.
Helpful Hint: Keep your passport and travel documents easily accessible if departing on a domestic or international flight.
