I had a few extra days in Egypt before meeting some friends in Cairo so I went to see Alexandria. I asked for a tour of the city a week before arriving with some free time to myself and that's exactly what I got! Magic Egypt Tours promised 24/7 service and they delivered - even during Eid. Eslam drove me there from Cairo at 7:00 AM after picking me up at the airport at 11:00 PM, helping with my visa and checked bags, and taking me to a hotel. He helped me with my Arabic, and took my bags back to Cairo while I rode the train (my request). Alexandria is a must see for any history nerds and I wouldn't change a thing about my time there. I felt as safe alone in Alexandria as I have in any western city and I made some good friends along the way!
