Additional visit to the mummies room at the museum (extra ticket on spot). Lunch at a Nile view restaurant in Cairo. After that you will visit Salah el din Citadel: A medieval Islamic fortification in Cairo. The Citadel was fortified by the Ayyubid ruler Salah al-Din between 1176 and 1183 CE, to protect it from the Crusaders. At 6.00 am Pickup from your hotel in Cairo by guide to start your full day tour to Alexandria which is 220 k/ m away from Cairo. Start your day Tour there visiting the Catacomb of Kom El –Shoqafa . It contains tombs on 3 levels, also contains the Tri-cilium where relatives used to sit on stone benches to feast the dead. After that you will visit the Pompey’s Pillar, which was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Lunch at local restaurant in Alexandria, and then you proceed to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria then to Bibliotheca Alexandrina from out side.
